Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched the Master plan of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial, at Mahatma Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. PM Modi also inaugurated the redeveloped Kochrab Ashram. (PTI)

Planned with a budget of ₹1,200 crore, a government release said on Sunday that the project aims to revitalize Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings and philosophy for the present and future generations. (PTI)

Thirty-six existing buildings will undergo restoration, with 20 buildings, including ‘Hriday Kunj,’ Gandhi’s residence, being conserved. Thirteen buildings will undergo restoration, and three will be reproduced.(PTI)

The buildings will house interactive exhibits and activities to showcase aspects of Gandhiji’s life as well as the legacy of the Ashram. The master plan also includes the creation of a library and archives building to preserve, protect, and disseminate Gandhiji’s ideas. (PTI)
